Apply for permission to drive on 's-Gravendijkwal
Trucks are not allowed to drive on ‘s-Gravendijkwal. This rule applies to all trucks, except 100% electric trucks. Apply for permission to drive your truck on ’s-Gravendijkwal.

All trucks except 100% electric trucks and trucks that carry out duties required by law.
Foreign number plate
Do you have a foreign number plate? You must register your truck with the City of Rotterdam first. This is free and needs to be done once. You can do this in the same user portal where you can apply for permission.
Dutch number plate
Do you have Dutch number plate? Your truck is already registered in the vehicle registration system (RDW). You can apply for permission right away.
Good to know
- If you drive without permission you can get a fine of € 120 + € 9 administration costs.
- There are 2 types of permissions:
- permission for 1 day
- permission for a longer period of time

You pay for processing your application, even if you do not get permission.
Documents you need for your application
With your application you must include copies of documents that show the number of visits you must make to an address where the truck ban applies. And the reason for these visits.
How long does it take
- Accounts are usually ready within minutes after registration.
- Permission for 1 day is usually ready within minutes after payment. After you apply, you will receive permission immediately by email.
- Permission for a longer period of time is handled individually. You will receive an answer by email within 8 weeks.
