Start registration for non-residents
Step 1 of 4
Fill out the form
Fill out the form 'Inschrijven in de Registratie Niet-ingezetenen'. Link opens an external page in a new browser tab. on the website of the Ministry of Internal affairs.
After completing the form, you will receive a personal QR code by email. You will need this QR code for your appointment.
Step 2 of 4
Gather documents
You will need the following documents:
- the personal QR code you received after filling out the form in step 1
- a valid passport or identity (ID) card
- if you are from outside the EU or EEA: your visa, residence permit or work permit
- the confirmation email for your appointment
You will receive this confirmation after making an appointment in step 3
If you are registering a child aged 15 or younger, also gather the following documents:
- a valid passport or ID card of the child
- the birth certificate of the child that meets legalization requirements. Link opens an external page in a new browser tab.
- a valid passport or ID card of the parent or guardian who will be present at the registration
Step 3 of 4
Make an appointment
Registration takes place at the counter. You need to make an appointment.

Step 4 of 4
Go to your appointment
The RNI counter can be found at Burgerzaken Centrum. Link opens an external page in a new browser tab.. Bring all the documents you have gathered to the appointment.
If you are registering your child, your child must also be present at the registration.
