The EDBR consists of approximately 30 entrepreneurs characteristic to the Rotterdam trade and industry, representatives of local knowledge institutions and Directors of the Rotterdam Development Corporation and the Port of Rotterdam. Other interested parties can also be invited to join the EDBR. Several taskforces have been set up for this purpose; one of them being the “Taskforce International Entrepreneurship”.
The Taskforce International Entrepreneurship of the EDBR focuses on the international orientation of trade and industry in Rotterdam. The following tools are used:

• attracting and expanding international enterprises and activities 
• internationalisation of the “SME” (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) in Rotterdam 
• making use of the EDBR-members’ networks, knowledge and skills for promotion and business liaisons 
• co-ordinating management activities with regard to promotion and business liaisons of all parties involved
• encouraging enterprises in Rotterdam to do international business (virtually as well as physically)
• improving the international working climate in Rotterdam (among other things: alleviating laws for employment of highly-educated, foreign professionals)
